Job Title: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to manage and support our Oracle database environments. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our database systems.
Job Description:
As an Oracle Database Administrator at NepOps, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of Oracle databases. You will work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure the efficient operation and availability of databases that support our business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.
- Manage and maintain all production and non-production Oracle databases.
- Perform database tuning and performance monitoring to ensure high availability and efficiency.
- Implement and manage database security, including user roles, permissions, and auditing.
- Plan and execute database backups and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies for database environments.
- Monitor and optimize database storage and capacity planning.
- Apply Oracle patches, updates, and fixes as needed to maintain system stability and security.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas, indexes, and queries.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity problems.
- Automate routine database administration tasks using scripts or Oracle tools.
- Document database environments, including architecture, configuration, and procedures.
- Stay current with Oracle database technologies and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of Oracle RDBMS architecture, components, and operation.
- Proficiency in Oracle database installation, configuration, and upgrading.
- Strong experience with Oracle backup and recovery processes using RMAN and other tools.
- Expertise in database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, ASM, RAC, and other high availability solutions.
- Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) for database monitoring and management.
- Understanding of database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and access control.
- Familiarity with PL/SQL and database scripting for automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud-based Oracle database solutions.
- Familiarity with other database technologies such as MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with database migration and consolidation projects.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting.
